Until you’ve been there yourself
I suggest you hold your tongue
Because you’ll never understand
that some battles can’t be won.
And I admit to mistakes
and wistful ways of wishful thinking,
it’s hard to plot a course when that ship is sinking.
Giving in to vices and teenage poetry.
Logic loops and endless bad dreams.
Because I’m falling in to bad routines,
Getting crushed by complacency.
Second guessing leads to questioning
and to answering “I don’t know”.
The spaces between the words become
a void of the unknown.
And if you’ve heard in my voice echoes of uncertainty
It’s because I know the words but I don’t know what they mean
Giving in to vices and teenage poetry.
Logic loops and endless bad dreams.
Because I’m falling in, to bad routines,
Giving in to the worst of me.

Mechanical
03:13
|
|||
There are somethings that escape me,
I find them hard to comprehend.
It’s like these problems, they happen like clockwork, giving into repetition in the end.
Just give me something I can fix,
blood and metal, sweat and bricks.
It’s automatic, I just want to fix things
even if there is no easy way.
I am a fixer, made of broken parts,
but I know thats the way I’m made.
Laying out these half built schematics;
the things I over simplify.
But there is so much choking comfort,
in giving up trying to try.
Just give me something I can fix,
blood and metal, sweat and bricks.
It’s automatic, I just want to fix things
even if there is no easy way.
I am a fixer, made of broken parts,
but I know thats the way I’m made.
Mechanical.
Such fragile things, but we aren’t built to suffer?
Let’s heal brittle bones next to each other.

Stupid Things
02:02
|
|||
Am I about to crack? Or is this passing?
Or is it a new heart attack? Pulses race,
as I’m running but still looking back...
I forgetting. I’m forgetting myself.
These Stupid Things...
They’re breaking me.
But i know that is a weight
That we all must carry.
You’ve come a long way, but there’s so far to go.
These Stupid Things...
They’re breaking me.
But i know that is a weight
That we all must carry.
Rebuilding the broken things that we set in motion.
It’s worth remembering the path we took
to get get us here.
All the breaks, stuttering tears,
songs that made us forget our fears.
Every cog and and grinding gear,
carry them and keep them near.
Even the parts that start to rust,
they’ll be the weight we carry with us.

Relative Motions (MWR)
02:38
|

Stationary. Are we stationary now?
Are moving so slowly that we’d never know?
I want to be reaping he things that i sow,
But this is unfertile ground and there’s no space to grow.
We’re holding. Are we holding on
To the things that we love even though they’re long gone?
Are we held back, stuck in the same place,
obsessed with a life that we can’t replicate
So lets get tattoos of everything we stand to loose,
Of everything we’ve left to prove,
And all things that we know have no use.
We’ll be repeating those circles again.
Repeating those circles
Transitions. Are we transitioning?
Are we replacing parts just to feel new again?
I’ve been making plans for us to go
But the lines all got blurred.
How? I don’t even know
We’re moving. Are we moving on
Find new things for us to love? A new place in the sun?
We won’t held back, we’ll run from this place,
and we won’t let those bastards get in the way

Fortune Teller
02:27
|

Where some see luck, others see hard work.
And if you’d give a fuck then maybe you would learn
To not be jealous of what others have.
To look around and take stock and then learn to be glad.
Mystic predictions only tell you
what you want to know.
There ain’t no path up in the stars
to show you where to go.
So curse that snake to save your soul
or bend a knee to kiss the soil.
Hope the sun will rise each day.
My friend there’s a better way.
So blame it on what you can’t touch.
And my cold reading shows that you don’t read too much.
You’re always looking for the easy way,
Another explanation for why things have to change.

Hammers
03:05
|
|||
Bring me the hammer,
we’ll beat these bones back into shape.
We’ll make a monument,
to things that bend but never break.
And with the drums tattoo,
we’ll make that heart wring true.
A NEW YOU.
Record your testament, make it the best you can.
Repeat it verbatim, till it sounds true again.
Sometimes the words you speak,
Will slowly lift you to your feet.
Broken things can be replaced,
So wipe that tired look off your face.
‘Cause don’t you know there still is
so much left to do.
For every broken end we’ll make amends.
Rebuilding piece by piece.
You know these milestones, aren’t far from home.
We’ll make that old heart beat.
I found you a new piece,
Old words for New tongues.
But some parts still remain,
so New breaths for Old Lungs.
I know you still feel weak,
I know that furnace needs no heat.
For when you’re slowly shaking, stuck between asleep and waking.
We’ll reset the gears and get you back on track.

Weird Ways
01:54
|
|||
I need a new rhythm for this old dead beat,
something solid, I can feel, that’ll move these feet.
Because I’ve got that feeling that I’m turning to stone.
You’ll be a statue before you know.
There are things in my head, I can’t replicate,
there’s things that I hear, that I can’t escape.
Sing me something, a call to action.
I had enough of distractions.
SO LET’S GO! This place can burn for all that I care.
LET GO of everything that tied you to it.
I’ve got a hook in my head that I cannot forget,
and it drives me insane but it keeps me in step.
It keeps me alive when I should be dead.
Helps me to move these feet of lead.
So I’ll remember everything that I’ve still left unsaid,
I’ll refocus things that I neglect.
I’ll slowly rise, my feet on the ground.
Open my heart and sing it loud
SO LET’S GO! This place can burn for all that I care.
LET GO of everything that tied you to it.
Forget the “Good Old Days”,
I’ll find my own way.

Same fucking shit but different day?
I guess no good things happen to you anyway?
Maybe its your ego thats really the problem?
Remove your pride and solve the conundrum
These problems are all in your head,
They’ll drag you down until you’re brain dead.
Accept your faults, go and make a better day!
Find what you love and try do it everyday!
And if everyday feels the same,
You know you can make you better!
Then it’s time for a change,
Lets start today!
Sometimes you look yourself straight in the eye,
accept you fail because you never really try.
Maybe it’s the time to accept the dead end?
Stop asking “why” and start asking “when”?
These problems are all in your head,
They’ll drag you down until you’re brain dead.
Accept your faults, go and make a better day!
Find what you love and try do it everyday!

Understater
02:39

Those first words were a promise,
printed in wax to keep me honest.
Every verse, they’re related.
Though the meaning’s understated.
And if you ever need reminding,
You know where you can find it.
If any words need under lining.
I’ll do the explaining
There’s a subtle friction thats at play between me and you
And it keeps us warm at night as I lay next to you
Because I can’t really sleep, and I don’t need to eat
when my mind keeps coming back to you.
I never really know how to prove
That every word is all for you.
They only come out right,
when it is too late at night.
So tell me how to prove
That every word is all for you.
They only come out right,
when it is too late at night.
So I sit here twisting every syllable.
Breaking up the words to try and find a verse.
But tomorrow is a new day, so I’ll find a new way
and maybe I’ll explain it to you.
I never really know how to prove
That every word is all for you.
They only come out right,
when it is too late at night.
So tell me how to prove
That every word is all for you.
They only come out right,
when it is too late at night.
And on the page it now sinks,
old words but in new ink.
And I hope that I will succeed
in letting you know what I mean.
And now that page has dried,
I’ll try to sleep tonight,
but I know I won’t such succeed

I don’t wanna grow up. Arrested development
Maybe I’m stuck with my head in the past
Or my head up my arse.
Whether optimist or pesimist, I’m smashing that glass.
Sometimes I’m stuck with my head spinning circles.
Speaking in tongues, Choking on curses.
Spitting dirt as you are buried.
The words on my chest are too fucking heavy.
And there’ll be better days that this one.
The best advice that I ever had was
“Learn your rhythms and keep on moving,
And this to shall pass”
Picked a fine fight for tonight,
Old photographs in a new light.
Tear it up and set a light,
While my thoughts spin like satellites.
And sometimes I get stuck on the words that I say’
My best intentions swept away.
Keep on spitting blood and rust
I’ll grind the ashes into the dust.

Awake
03:09
|
|||
These ears I have are both abused.
Filled with wax, tongues in the groove.
But at least my heart is beating.
In the end what can you do
but find something that’s rings true to you
And live your dreams out in the evening.
But I am awake, awake today.
With brittle bones and tarmac homes,
I can see something in the distance.
But I can’t make it out yet.
With hands so cracked and a broken back,
trying to fight any resistance,
Come bend a knee, let’s not forget.
But I am awake, awake today.
First time in so many years
I feel blood surge through my veins.
I threw down the books I idolised
and tried to make a change.
There are words and turns of phrases
I’m sick of singing to myself.
Running out of routines to distract me
from thoughts past dwelt
But I am awake, awake today.
